What Does a Creator Need to Open a Dedicated Payout Account? The Agency Onboarding Checklist

5 min read · Legacy Solutions

To open a dedicated payout account, the agency completes a business verification and each creator completes her own: a government ID, a live identity check, proof of address, proof of funds and a tax ID. Requirements can vary by banking partner and country, but agencies that prepare these documents before they ask a model to start usually get through onboarding in a fraction of the time.

Almost every delay in onboarding comes from the same few things: a blurry photo, an address document in the wrong name, a missing tax number. None of them is hard to fix. They're only slow when nobody told the model what to prepare.

This checklist covers what each side provides, the order things happen in, and how to brief a model so she gets it right the first time.

Why each model gets her own account

A dedicated account in the model's own name keeps the structure clean. She holds her own login, the agency holds its own, and neither side has access to the other's credentials. That's the point of separating management from ownership, and we explain why it matters in how to separate account management from bank account ownership.

The cost of doing it properly is a verification step up front. That's normal for any regulated account, and it's a good sign. A setup that skips verification isn't more convenient, it just moves the risk onto you.

1. What the agency provides

The agency goes through business verification before any model is onboarded.

2. What each creator provides

Each model completes a verification of her own. In practice it comes down to five items.

Tell your model what to prepare before you send the link. A five-minute heads-up saves days of back and forth.

3. The order things happen in

The exact steps depend on the banking partner, but the shape is usually the same.

1. The agency is verified first, so models can be onboarded under it. 2. The model sends her details and documents, ideally all at once. 3. The agency checks them for completeness, which catches most problems before they reach the bank. 4. The documents are submitted to the banking partner, who reviews them. 5. The account details are issued once the account is opened. 6. A small test payout is sent to confirm everything works end to end. 7. The model goes live, and the agreed split runs on her payouts.

Timing depends on the partner and on how complete the documents are. Don't promise a model a fixed date. Promise to tell her where she is in the process.

4. The common reasons onboarding gets delayed

A short checklist sent to each model before she starts removes most of these.

5. What to tell your models up front

Models are more likely to complete this quickly when they understand why it's happening. Keep it plain.

If she asks what happens to her account if she leaves the agency, give her a straight answer. We cover that in what happens to payouts when a creator leaves your agency.

6. Keep a record of what was submitted

For each model, keep a note of what was sent, when it was submitted and the status of the review. It makes follow-up quick, and it's one of the seven record sets we recommend in the financial records every OnlyFans agency should keep. Because these files hold personal data, store them securely and limit who can open them.

Where Legacy Solutions fits

Legacy Solutions is software that sits on top of licensed banking partners. We run the onboarding with you: we tell you what each model needs, check that the documents are complete before they go to the banking partner, and keep you updated on where each one is in the process.

Once a model is live, her dedicated account receives her payouts, the agreed split runs automatically, and both she and the agency see the same figures in their own dashboards. Weekly statements can be downloaded as PDF or CSV.

Legacy is software only. It never holds, receives or transfers funds. The accounts and the transfers sit with the licensed banking partner.

Frequently asked questions

What documents does a creator need to open a dedicated payout account?

Typically a government-issued ID, a live identity check, proof of address, proof of funds and a tax ID. Requirements can vary by banking partner and country, so confirm the exact list before asking a model to start.

How long does onboarding take?

It depends on the banking partner and on how complete the documents are. Complete, clear documents sent all at once are the biggest factor, and a fixed date isn't something to promise a model.

Can the agency complete the verification for the model?

No. The verification is for the account holder, so each model completes her own identity check. The agency can help by preparing a checklist and checking documents for completeness before they're submitted.

Does the agency get access to the model's account?

No. The account is in her name and she holds the login. The agency has its own account and its own dashboard, and the agreed split runs between them.

What if a model doesn't have a tax ID or proof of address?

Raise it early, because it's the most common cause of delay. The right fix depends on her country, and an accountant or the banking partner can say what's acceptable.
